Business and Career Coaching

I started my career as a Recruiter. In 2002 I wrote a comprehensive guide called Job Search Strategies from the Trenches which guided people through the job search process based on what I learned from being one of my agencies top recruiters.

In 2005 I left the comfort of working for a paycheck and launched my own company in an industry that was barely being noticed yet. One of my favorite quotes is “You’ve got to jump off cliffs and build your wings on the way down” and that is exactly what I did.

In the early years, a number of people offered coaching. What I found that they were offering was the same information you can get in the many various books at the library and bookstore. And I was already reading all of them.

I had been a successful sales person, which helped, but I had to learn how to package offerings, partner with others, manage a team, and deliver on expectations.

Through the years I began helping others, not based on the books I read, but based on the fires I had already been through.

My coaching style is to listen to what you want, focus on your strengths and help you figure out how to fill in the gaps of the areas that you are either weaker in or simply do not want to do.

Through the years the people I am most thankful for are the ones that I momentarily hated because they did not tell me what I wanted to hear, but what I needed to hear. That is the gift I now try to pay forward to others. If you want a cheerleader, turn to your friends and family. If you want insights, some of which may be hard to hear, I have the courage to explore those with you.

We live in a world where almost any idea is do-able. It is just a matter of figuring out the details, prioritizing, and making a commitment to reaching the goal.

If you need a coach to get clarity or put some ideas in order, let’s talk.
