Pope, Polls, and Pay to Play: Weekly Social Media Roundup

Our weekly roundups corral the news you can use.

Surprise! Facebook made our weekly roundup again.

This week Facebook showed off their new immersive 360 Star Wars video. You know, because having 360-video on your newsfeed is not cool enough, you need to get everyone’s attention with a Star Wars clip.

screen_shot_2015-09-26_at_11-54-17_amIt was a busy news week in general, with all the coverage of The Pope in town. Snapchat jumped on that news train by creating a few Pope emoji’s to go with all the selfies that were being taken.

Also, if you want to replay the cool snap of the Pope, you can do so now, as long as you are willing to pay.

Of course, you can probably find more Pope selfies on Instagram, which this week announced that with over 400 million users, they are now the 2nd biggest social network flying past Twitter.

Twitter will let you poll your friends about that. This week they started rolling out a new polling feature. Below is one that showed up in my newsfeed.
